GPC Partners
Working Together for Christ
We partner with various organisations who share the same goal as we do: growing a great community and sharing the gospel.
Below you can read a bit about each of our Partnerships and how you can help us to help them. Please click on their websites to find out more.
Te Waipuna Puawai is a thriving community development initiative, based in the heart of the Tamaki Community. Together with the Sisters of Mercy and our community members, we build pathways of success and positive change for our whanau, embracing a collaborative, holistic, family and community-based approach.
"Working together to strengthen women, strengthen families and strengthen community"
Through education and self-development programmes and family support services, we play an active role in the community, fostering well-being for people, families and the community as a whole.
Every Sunday GPC collects non-perishable food for Te Waipuna Puawai foodbank, supporting struggling families in Glen Innes.

Launchpad
Formally Bible in Schools, Launchpad provides Christian education in state schools.
Our Launchpad Champions programme is a fun and engaging 30 minute session presented to our Tamariki each week by our volunteer presenters. Our presentations encourage tamariki to be courageous, have respect and be helpful. Our tamariki are given opportunities to consider applying positive values in their own lives in situations such as being a good friend, working together, having self-control and over coming challenges. Our presenters share korero from the Bible and other inspiring champions to present positive values. Tamariki explore the korero through games and activities, then discuss how these values might apply in everyday situations in their whanau, kura and community.
Some of GPC’s members are part of this program and GPC supports our local team financially and with a place to pray before their program.

Empower Asia
EMPOWER ASIA was established in 1990 and now operates in six Asian nations; Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Bhutan, Kolkata (India) and Nepal. Around 265 teenagers receive 24/7 care while residing in one of our 18 safe-houses so that they may receive nutritious meals, come to grow in their knowledge of God and also attend school (or tertiary institutions). This is all carried out in a loving family environment.
EMPOWER ASIA has had a very strong emphasis on empowering local indigenous leaders of good reputation and standing within their communities to "own" the various projects. This is why we have expanded so effectively. These quality local leaders have real power to make real decisions about how their work can be both maintained in quality and expanded in quantity.
Their aim has been to build and maintain a network of indigenous operated Christian leadership development homes for impoverished teenagers so that in time, these educated young people will move out as adults to become change-agents within their own communities.

Our Church has key partnerships with the presbyterian Churches of Vanuatu and Myanmar, and the Church of North India. We also have important relationships with networks of churches across Asia and the Pacific, and international bodies like the Council for World Mission.
Through these Partnerships we respond to the call of Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations and help provide much-needed resources for Christian mission overseas. This also enriches the life of our Church through our mutual sharing and growing together in the worldwide body of Christ.
